Why frozen?

Frozen by choice.
Not because we have to.

Every Green Ninja shot is cold pressed and frozen immediately after production. That lets us avoid heat treatment and preservatives while keeping the product fresh.

Why freezing is part of the recipe.

We do not freeze the shots as an afterthought. It is what allows us to make a simple, cold-pressed product without changing it into a shelf-stable drink.

Why not shelf stable?

Shelf-stable juices are designed to sit unrefrigerated for long periods. That generally requires heat treatment or another preservation process. Because The Green Ninja stays frozen, we do not need to turn it into a shelf-stable product.

Cold pressed, then frozen.

Once the microgreens have been pressed and bottled, freezing effectively presses pause. It helps protect the fresh colour, flavour and nutrients of the juice until it is thawed.

Why not use preservatives?

Our goal is a focused ingredient list: broccoli, pea and sunflower microgreens. Freezing gives us a practical storage method without adding preservatives, stabilisers or unnecessary fillers.

Why do we avoid heat?

Heat treatment is useful for producing shelf-stable foods, but it can change the taste, colour and some heat-sensitive components of fresh juice. We keep the shots frozen instead of relying on heat as the preservation method.

Frozen shot questions.

The practical details about storing, thawing and drinking your Green Ninja shots.

Can I refreeze a thawed shot?

We recommend keeping thawed shots refrigerated rather than refreezing them. Only move the amount you expect to use into the fridge.

How long do they last?

Frozen the shots last around 6 months. Once thawed use within 7 days.

Why does the juice separate?

Separation is normal in real pressed juice. There are no emulsifiers or stabilisers holding everything together, so turn the bottle upside down and shake well before drinking.

What should I do on delivery day?

Put the shots into your freezer as soon as possible. Leave an esky out for the driver when you will not be home to receive the frozen delivery.
